From Olbia-Smeralda Airport in Olbia, take your campervan to the cheery seaside resort that is Santa Teresa Gallura. Via motorhome, the trip will take only more than an hour through the Strad Statale 125 Orientale Sarda/ SS125. The small town isn’t known to be historically or culturally significant but its coastal setting has made it to be a favourite stopover in Sardinia.
The town is located at the northern tip of Sardinia, and belongs to the province of Olbia-Tempio. Known before as Longosardo or Longo Sardinian, it was also a centre of commercial traffic in the Roman period wherein it was able to provide granite for the construction for the Duomo, Baptistery of Pisa and allegedly even for the Pantheon.
There are two bays to which the town is built around in: Porto Longone and Rena Bianca. Spiaggia Rena Bianca is an appealing white sand beach located centrally near the heart of the town. Along the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the are souvenir shops, food shops and pubs and ice cream parlours. Strolling past these, visitors are greeted by the panoramic view of the seascape and on top of the promontory, the Torre Longosardo, which can be climbed to enjoy a better view of the sea.
