Padova has an airport for private flights but no direct commercial flights. Still there are three international airports nearby:
Padova, which is locally known as Padua, is, perhaps, the oldest city in Northern Italy. It is considered to be a city of academic importance with luminaries by the ranks of Dante, Petrarch, Galileo, Copernicus and Donatello. One of the favourite spots of students and intellectuals is Caffe Pedrocchi which is built like a classical temple and now also functions as an art complex and exhibition centre.
Scrovegni Chapel, which is also called the Arena Chapel, houses elaborately preserved frescoes by Giotto. The chapel is Padua’s most famous sight and is a tourist favourite. The Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua or the Basilica di Sant’Antonio is visited as a place of pilgrimage by people from all over the world.
Padua also houses a number of historical castles and places such as the Palazzo della Ragione and Prato della Valle is the largest city square in Padua and is also one of the largest in Europe.
Dine in the most famous restaurants and parlours in Padua. Visit Gelateria Artigianale da Bruno, and Symposio and Pasticceria Manicaretti et Cetera for Italian cuisine.
Many people visit from Venice as it is very close by. You can drive your campervan through the A4/E70 road.
